Food Web
this is a food web that shows the comsuming of animals and how we effect the distruction and loss of species
This foodweb shows the comsuming of animals in the Neritic Zone. ·

It also shows how we are the cause of habitat and species distruction in the ocean.

The plankton form the base of the web similar to the plants in a land food web.

Neritic Zone - Biome Wiki

  • Problem- Coral reef destruction=loss of habitat to many aquatic species.
  • Solution- People are constructing wire frames and anchoring them to the ocean floor. Over time shells and sea plants build on the wire and form a coral reef.

  • Problem- Cyanide fishing, dynamite, coral bleaching, and rising water temperatures have killed many coral reefs.
  • Solution- Special laws have been created to protect the coral reefs.

marine conservation
  • Overfishing and destructive fishing practices hurt marine life.
  • Increasing use of marine resources and accelerating coastal development are resulting in the loss of important marine habitats

Easy Ways to Save Coral Reefs

  • Conserve water- the less water you use the less runoff and wastewater will be dumped into the ocean.
  • Reduce pollution- walk, bike, or car pool. Pollution causes ocean warming, which kills coral reefs.
  • Plant a tree- trees reduce runoff into the ocean.
  • Spread the word- share your excitment on coral reefs and encourage others to get involved.
